PENSIÓN is a ten-room guesthouse in the heart of Mexico City’s Roma Norte, conceived as a home shaped by its neighbourhood, its rhythms, and the people who pass through it.

Created and designed by Savvy, the project began quietly over four years ago above a bookstore, chocolate atelier, and creative studio, as a small three-room experiment in hospitality. Over time, it evolved into a more considered and intimate approach to hosting — informed by travel, art, culture, food, design, and a sense of poetic ease.

Set within two former family homes, the guesthouse preserves their architectural character: Juliet windows opening onto a quiet, tropical street and garden patios where light and time slow down. Each room carries its own temperament, shaped by immersive artist-designed wallpapers, custom furniture, and collected objects developed through close collaborations with artists and makers. The house is assembled with the instinct of a collector rather than the logic of a hotel.

Downstairs, the experience continues at IDEAL, an all-day café and bar conceived as a natural gathering place for guests and neighbours alike. Its atmosphere nods to Mexico City’s 1970s through an Austrian lens. Seasonal, unforced cuisine sits alongside coffee sourced from Mexican growers and a concise wine list of Mexican and international labels. The menu, conceived by Laila Gohar, completes the house’s everyday rhythm — cozy, comfortable, and accompanied by boleros and classical music playing softly in the background.

More than a place to stay, PENSIÓN is a collection of atmospheres — inviting guests to slow down, slip out of context, and find their own rhythm within the house.
